Gail Weiss, Distinguished Research Professor of Philosophy at George Washington University, will moderate a panel discussion on the life, work, and impact of the famous feminist writer Simone de Beauvoir. Special attention will be paid to Beauvoir’s novel The Mandarins, landmark treatise The Second Sex, and her contribution to Western philosophy. Presented in conjunction with the installation From the Desk of Simone de Beauvoir at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
