Sons of Haji Omar (1978, 58 min., Afghanistan) by Asen Balikci, Timothy Asch, and Patsy Asch focuses on Haji Omar and his family who are members of the Lakankhel, a Pashtoon tribal group in northeastern Afghanistan. Over twelve months the film documents the family’s migration between spring lambing camp, markets, and their winter home. A discussion will follow the screening.
